It's Beginning to Look a Lot...
... Like Christmas. Or Las Vegas.
This is our neighbors house.
No one else on our street does outside lights. I think it's because none of us can compare. I personally like it. (I guess that would be a little of my dad coming out.)
You are Rob are more alike that I ghought like Rob! I never knew you liked their house. Rob calls this style of decorating "Christmas Done Bright" and would prefer it to my simple wreaths and white lights.
Oh, you'll never find this style of decorating on my house! I want to give the false impression that I have some class. (However, I do think it's fun to see.)
Thanks for stopping by my blog! It's fun to meet a random stranger, yet a sister in Christ, through the blogosphere. I've enjoyed looking through yours as well--looks like you've got an adorable handful (or rather, several armloads full) of testosterone in your house :)
I think the lights are kind of fun too--also because of my dad, who used to decorate our old house in such a way that a friend of mine once dropped me off and said, "Holy Griswolds!" :)
Jason would call me a Germantown slob in this regard because I prefer the plain white lights. I grew up in a town that only allowed white lights on the houses. Everything was simplified and supposedly "elegant" in this town. They even fought with Perkins before allowing them to come in to the city limits. The reason? The American flag was too big.
Kristie, We went looking at lights in our neighbourhood the other night. There is one house very close to ours that we all thought looked like the Grizwald's, that was until we went around the corner to find one house with over 20 lighted plastic things on the roof, every tree in the yard tangled in lights and every square inch of the yard covered with lightes plastic objects or lighted moving things. I'll have to take a photo and send it to you. T
OK - so I wasn't crazy about the house in your neighborhood, but check out http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/12/09/eveningnews/main1115306.shtml the guy in Ohio who synched his lights music. I am inspired by this. It is quite impressive.
He told neighbors and police he would stop as soon as they wanted him to. The other night there was a car accident in fornt of his house, so he pulled the plug. He has been all over the news.
Okay, so it's not as intense as Jenn Grover's post...but here is a local Knoxvillian who has programmed his Christmas decorations to Christmas music. No video, but here is an article from the Knox News Sentinel. My roommates and I checked this out Tuesday, and were there for 15-20 minutes watching...it's definitely a fun evening activity.

Well, I like it.
Pop
I like it too!
The kid in me never grew up. I love Christmas!
Your Aunt Brenda
Rob says, "I think it's festive."
Suzanne says, "I think it's tacky."
Zerita says, "It should be pink and brown." (actually we made that one up)

Hey Jill, do you have the link to the article? We might need something to do on our datenight!
Kristie, maybe you can take a video on your date and Matt can post it on the web. (Just kidding)
Lots of comments on this entry!! Maybe I'll just take a picture of the inflatable 8 ft. Elmo on my street. My boys love it!
