Look out Archimedes . . .
It's the Cormanedes!! Archimedes supposedly set fire to the Roman fleet who was coming to invade his native Sicily before they even reached land. He did this by using mirrors to focus the light energy from the sun at points on the ships causing them to catch fire. Cool, huh? We're just trying to catch these invading leaves on fire, but there's potential here, don't you think? Hopefully, they don't try it on other parts of the house!

I allowed Alex to light a match the other day..hoping to quench his curiosity. It did for about two hours when he came back and said how much fun it was and could he light another one! Do you think I should show him how to set fire to things with a magnifying glass?:O T
No. I thought of Alex while we were doing this. It might be a lesson you should skip!
